“I am interested in a fictionalized landscape infused with emotion, mystery and dichotomy.” Artist Teresa Cox's most recent paintings and drawings pay homage to the interconnectedness of man and nature. Cox's exotic gardens and fantastic landscapes straddle a place between the familiar and the strange. Gathering information from the natural world, she borrows from the commonplace, embellishing and distilling once familiar forms into new dramatized landscapes. Cox's paintings are a riot of color, spontaneity, exuberant gesture, and masterful poise animated with motion and layers of metaphor.
